MARIE M. SMITH
Funeral for Marie M. Smith of Mill Valley will be held Monday in Brantford, Ont., Canada.
Mrs. Smith, 58, died Wednesday at a local hospital after a short illness.
A native of Hamilton, Ont., Canada, she came to live in California 16 years ago and had resided in Mill Valley for the past 10 years.
An artist, Mrs. Smith worked as a portrait painter in Marin. She was a member of the sodality of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mill Valley and the Catholic Women’s League.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a sister, Kathleen Chapman of Hamilton.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was to have been buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Brantford. Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home Ltd. was in charge of the funeral.
