Col. J.A. JORDAN, Father of Air Mail, Succumbs

Today in San Francisco final rites were held for Col. John A. JORDAN, prominent resident of Marin County, who until the last few weeks, made his home at Capitola Farms, San Anselmo. His death came Monday at Stanford Hospital, San Francisco.

JORDAN, known throughout the United States as "the father of air mail", lead in making plans and carrying through the first air mail flight from Washington to New York on May 15, 1918.

Well known in Masonic circles in this county and the Bay Area, the deceased was a member of Islam Temple of Shriners. He is survived only by his widow, Mrs. June Mae JORDAN.
