JOHN P. SIBBALD
A memorial service for John P. Sibbald, owner of Sibbald Construction Co. in Sleepy Hollow, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
He died Friday, July 3, 1987, at his home after a two-year illness. He was 68.
He was born in Santa Rosa and lived in Sleepy Hollow for 27 years.
He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, earning a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics.
After graduating from college, he enlisted in the Army during World War II and served in Germany.
He operated his own construction company for about 20 years, developing parks and playgrounds.
Mr. Sibbald was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Homeowners Association.
Survivors are his wife, Eileen Sibbald of Sleepy Hollow; two sons, Brian Sibbald of Petaluma and Scott Sibbald of Santa Rosa; two sisters, Luella Sibbald of Berkeley and Winifred Thompson of Concord; a brother, E. Kent Sibbald of Santa Rosa; and three grandchildren.
Inurnment will be private.
The family prefers memorial gifts to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, San Rafael.
