Convicts Didn't Believe 'Poison' Sign; Two Dead

Two San Quentin convicts died today and two others were critically ill from drinking a poisonous fluid used in the operation of a duplicating machine.

Warden Clinton Duffy said the can of fluid was marked 'poison', but the prisoners apparently disregarded the warning. Duffy said two of the men died in "terrible agony".

Dead were ROBERT HENDERSON, 29, and JOSEPH G. DAVIS, 30, both of Los Angeles. HENDERSON was convicted of forgery in 1943 and DAVIS of murder in 1940.
