CHARLES L. ROSS
Funeral was held Wednesday for Charles L. Ross, 67, of Nice, Lake County, a retired San Quentin Prison employee. Ross died Sunday in a Lake County Hospital after a brief illness.
Ross was born in San Jose, He was employed as a correctional officer at the prison from 1935 until his retirement in 1963.
He is survived by his wife, Elsa Ross in Nice; a son, Clyde L. Ross of San Quentin Village, also a correctional officer; two daughters, Delores Hyland of Camp Meeker, Mendocino County, and Mrs. Eunice Brown of Santa Rosa; four sisters, Belle Stockdale and Cora Bruhn of Sacramento, Effie Sinclair of Roseville and Mary Cannon of Richmond. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Inurnment was at Chapel of the Chimes, Santa Rosa.
