KAREN OAK
Former Marin resident
Karen Oak of Cotati, a former Marin resident, died Friday, Oct. 26, 1990, in a car accident in Petaluma. She was 39.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from the Nursing Department at Lakeland Community College in Ohio with a specialty in geriatrics and long-term care.
She moved to California in 1980 and lived in Kentfield for six years before moving to Sonoma County four years ago.
She had worked in skilled nursing and extended care facilities in both Marin and Sonoma counties.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Oak of Cotati; a daughter, Rebecca Oak of Cotati; two sons, Sean Oak and Jethro Oak, both of Cotati; her parents, Robert and Jean Knaser of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister, Debbie Knaser of Cleveland; and two brothers, Bob Knaser and David Knaser, both of Cleveland.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel of the Chimes, 2601 Santa Rosa Ave., Santa Rosa.
A Nursing Scholarship Fund in her name will be established at Santa Rosa Junior College.
