EVELYN BOSSANGE

The funeral for Evelyn Arnold Bossange of Napa, former longtime Marinite, will be private.

Mrs. Bossange died Wednesday in her home of a brain tumor. She was 64.

An ardent gardener, she was widely known for her floral arrangements used at weddings and receptions in Marin County and throughout the wine country.

She was born in San Francisco and was the granddaughter of the late Rep. William Kent and suffragette, Elizabeth T. Kent. She attended Katharine Branson School in Ross and Ambler Horticultural College in Ambler, Pa.

In 1940, she married Edouard Bossange, then a flight engineer for Pan American World Airways, who later became vice president for Braniff Airlines and a widely known flight-safety expert. He died in 1973.

She is survived by a daughter, Lyn (Mrs. Mohammed) Younes of New York City; a son, Kent Bossange of Saratoga, Calif.; a sister, Dr. Elizabeth Whitmore of Los Altos Hills; three brothers, Peter Arnold of Grass Valley, Anthony Arnold of Novato and Stanleigh Arnold of Kentfield; and three grandchildren.

The family invites her friends to give in her memory to the Hospice of Marin, the Hospice of Napa, or the Nature Conservancy.
