Pt. Reyes Physician Dies In Petaluma
The death of Dr. Stephen P. Cavanagh Tuesday night at the home of his brother in Petaluma lost to Point Reyes Station one of its best known and popular residents.
For many years he has been ministering to the medical needs of the people of the Point Reyes district and had endeared himself to all who knew him.
Ten days ago he was taken seriously ill and his decline to the end was rapid, although he retained consciousness and the use of his faculties to the last moment. His last words were those of a farewell to his devoted wife, Mrs. Anna Cavanaugh (sic), nee Sutton, of Novato. It is stated that heart trouble was the cause of death. Dr. Cavanagh was 55 years of age. He is survived by his widow, a sister, Mrs. W. B. Whitney, of Healdsburg, and a brother, J. E. Cavanagh.
The funeral, which will be largely attended owing to the esteem in which the deceased was held, will take place tomorrow at 9:40 from the home of the brother on Douglass street, and burial will be made in the family plot in Calvary cemetery, Petaluma.
