CHARLES H. HOWE
Charles H. Howe, a Novato resident and retired carpenter, died Saturday in a local hospital. He was 67.
A native of Arkansas, Howe has lived in Novato for the last seven years. Prior to moving to Novato, he lived in San Rafael where he settled in 1943. He came to the area through work at the shipyards in Marin City.
He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local No. 35.
Survivors include his wife, Grace A. Howe of Novato; a son, Duane Howe in Novato; three daughters, Shirley Krautheim, Charlene Krautheim, both of Novato, and Phyllis Whearty of Petaluma; a brother, John O. Howe of Santa Rosa; five sisters, Ona Hambree and Rhoda Cummins of Oklahoma, Ruby Johnson of Missouri, Hattie Brown of Kansas, and Josie Talley of Arkansas; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Keaton’s Chapel of Marin in Novato. He will be buried at Bahia Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
