Sudden Death of Mrs. Herzog
Mrs. Augusta Herzog passed away at her home here last Friday leaving a host of sorrowing friends both in Marin county and San Francisco, where she had resided before coming her many years ago with her grief stricken husband, Maxmillian Herzog.
The sad news of her death came as a shocking surprise to even the closest friends of the family, as her ..(illegible).. different condition of health had seemed to warrant grave fears.
Mrs. Herzog was a good woman in every sense of the word, a wife who was idolized by her husband and a mother who was almost deified by her children. That this warm regard was not confined to the members of the family was manifested Sunday at the funeral services held in San Francisco, when hundreds gathered to pay their last respects to the woman they had admired. They were friends of long standing, attracted to her a half century ago by her unusual qualities, and held during the long years by these same attributes.
She was born in Germany 77 years ago. She was the mother of a large family of children, all of whom have achieved success in the world. One son, S. K. Herzog, has been with his parents continuously, and the loss of his mother is a severe blow. The other children are Nathan K., Dr. George K. and Sidney G. Herzog, Mrs. Harry M. Lichenstein, Mrs. Julia Rheinstein and Mrs. Albert Lee.
