WILLIAM T. BENSON
William T. Benson, 71, of Fairfax, retired upholstery shop owner, died Monday in a San Francisco hospital after a brief illness.
Benson was owner of Bill and Ev’s Upholstery shop in Fairfax for many years and taught adult education classes in upholstery.
He was a former member of the Fairfax Board of Review and the Fairfax Merchants Association.
Benson was a native of Waukesha, Wis.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Benson Sea of Fairfax and Patricia Douglas of Los Angeles; a sister, Corine Smith of Lake County; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo. Inurnment will be private. The family prefers that memorial gifts be made to the American Heart Association.
