MAUD S. GARDNER

Maud S. Gardner, longtime community leader in San Geronimo Valley, died yesterday at a local hospital after a long illness. She was 90.

Daughter of Swiss immigrants, Mrs. Gardner was born on a farm in Nicasio. After graduation in 1903 from San Rafael High School, she married Edwin B. Gardner. She is survived by a daughter, Beryl G.Lane of Sunnyvale; a sister, Hattie Safstrom of San Anselmo; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and two daughters.
