LOIS L. GEORGE

A funeral for Lois Lee George, 66, of San Rafael, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.

Mrs. George died Monday in a local hospital after a long illness.

She was a nurse who lived in Marin County for the past 40 years. After attending Tamalpais High School, she graduated from St. Luke’s Nursing College in San Francisco. Mrs. George had served on the nursing staffs of both Ross Hospital and San Rafael General Hospital.

Mrs. George had also been charge of the infirmary at Sunny Hills.

She was a past president of the Legion of Mary at St. Raphael’s, past secretary of the Legion of Mary Curia in San Francisco, past president of the Northern California Square Dancers Association and the 49er Square Dance Club in South San Francisco.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene George of San Rafael; a son Kenneth George of Jacksonville, Fla., and eight grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Raphael’s Church. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.
