VINCENT DESMOND
Retired police officer
Vincent “Tiny” Glasgow Desmond of Corte Madera, a retired San Francisco police officer, died July 14 after a long illness. He was 88.
He was born in San Francisco.
Mr. Desmond worked for the San Francisco Police Department for 39 years. For 30 of those years he was a sergeant on motorcycle detail.
Mr. Desmond was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge #1 in San Francisco; a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry; and a Shriner with Islam Temple.
He was also a past president of the Municipal Motorcycle Officers of California. Other memberships included the San Francisco Police Officer’s Association; the San Francisco Veteran Police Officers Association; the Retired Employees of City and County of San Francisco; and the Provost Club.
Mr. Desmond is survived by his wife, Delight; two daughters, Bonnie and Debbie; and three grandchildren, David, Diana and Liam.
A private service will be held.
