U. JAMES McGINNIS

A memorial Mass of the Christian Burial for U. James McGinnis of Mill Valley will be said at 11 a.m. June 16 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Mill Valley.

He died Monday at Marin General Hospital after a long illness. He was 58.

A native of Louisiana, he had lived in Mill Valley for the past 35 years.

He had been in the real estate business for 25 years. He had owned and operated his own real estate office in Mill Valley until last year.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Mill Valley Post No. 284 of the American Legion, serving as the post commander in 1954 and 1955. He also belonged to the Mill Valley Rotary Club.

He is survived by a daughter, Doreen Toffey of San Jose; two sons, Stanley McGinnis of Mill Valley and John Lunt of Novato; two brothers, Earl McGinnis and John McGinnis, both of Louisiana; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family prefers memorial gifts to the Hanna Boys Center in Sonoma.
