ROY HUFFMAN
Funeral was held last week in Loomis for longtime Novato resident Roy Huffman. He died May 29 at the age of 86.
Huffman lived in Novato for 40 years before moving to Loomis five years ago to live with his son, Herbert. Huffman owned a nursery on Tamalpais Avenue for many years and operated it with his wife until her death in 1971.
Involved in school administration much of his life, he worked at several Marin schools including a military academy in San Rafael in 1918, the Mill Valley school district in 1947, and the San Quentin prison school from the late 40’s through the 50’s. Huffman came to California in 1900 when his family moved here. He was born in __ez, [paper torn] Kansas.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Nancy O’Day of Novato, son Herbt Huffman of Loomis, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
