J. NEILL CULLINS

Lutheran and Masonic services were held Saturday at Keaton’s Chapel of Marin for J. Neill Cullins who died Thursday at a San Francisco hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 59.

A native of Kansas, Cullins had lived in California more than 40 years. He moved to Marin County in 1955 and lived in Novato since about 1959, making his home in Bel Marin Keys.

He established a plumbing contracting business, Cullins and Hauge, in San Rafael in 1959.

Cullins was active in many organizations and was past president of the Marin Plumbers Association and of the Novato Horsemen. He was a past director of the Marin County Greeters, a Shriners’ group, and was a past captain of the Marin County Sheriff’s Posse.

He was also a member of the Redwood city Masonic Lodge 168, the Marin County Shrine Club, the Marin Rod and Gun Club, the Loch Lomond Yacht Club and the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Tiburon.

Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Cullins of Novato; two sons, Michael and Matthew Cullins of Petaluma; two daughters, Virginia L. Cullins of Petaluma and Kris Olson of Novato; his mother, Virginia Scott of Petaluma; a sister, Flora Scott of San Francisco; a brother, Ivan Cullins of Alameda, and one grandchild.

The family prefers memorial gifts go to either the Shriners’ Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco or the Pacific Medical Center Pulmonary Research Fund, P.O. Box 7999, San Francisco 94120.
