THOMAS MURPHY
Thomas Murphy, 36, formerly of Novato, died Saturday in Bellingham, Wash., where he had moved in late November.
He had been a captain for the Tiburon Fire Protection District. He had worked for the district for 15 years.
Funeral services are pending at Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.

A second obituary and a death notice were published in the Feb. 26 issue of the paper. A memorial service was to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at St. Hilary’s Church in Tiburon, following which a Tiburon fire engine was to carry the casket to Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael. He was a native of Tiburon. While living in Bellingham, he was a battalion chief with the Blaine, Wash., fire district near Bellingham. While in Tiburon, he had co-authored the proposal for the Southern Marin paramedic program which went into effect in July of 1980. He was survived by his wife, Jolin Murphy of Bellingham; his mother, Ruth Watson Murphy of Windsor, Sonoma County; two daughters, Christina Marie Murphy and Cynthia Louise Murphy, both of Neosho, Missouri; a stepdaughter and stepson, Kimberly and Scott McDonald of Bellingham; a sister, Barbara Keegan of Santa Rosa; and two brothers, James Murphy of Rancho Cordova, Sacramento County, and Kenneth Murphy of Petaluma.
