Dr. EARLE YOUNG Dies On Vacation
Dr. Earle M. Young, 65, San Rafael dentist and president of the Ross Valley Savings and Loan Association, died Sunday in Palm Springs.
He was on a vacation trip with his wife, his son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Young said her husband had suffered a heart attack.
Dr. Young, who practiced dentistry in San Rafael for 30 years, lived at 11 Madrone Avenue, Kentfield. He was one of the founders of the Ross Valley Savings and Loan and was the president from 1950 until his death.
He was a past president of the Mill Valley Rotary Club.
He was a member of the Islam Temple of the Shrine, San Francisco, Blue Lodge of the Masons and the Meadow Club. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael and a past elder of the church.
Dr. Young was a native of Iola, Kan., and came to California when he was 13. Before coming to Marin County, he lived in San Francisco and Fresno. He was a graduate of the University of California Dental School.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy P. Young; a son, E. Michael Young Jr. of San Anselmo; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Poppe of Fairfield and Linda Young of Kentfield; three brothers, Roy Young of Healdsburg, Paul Young of San Francisco and Rolla Young of Modesto, and by a sister, Mrs. Ruby Sambrailo of San Rafael. He was the grandfather of five.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Williams Funeral Home.
