ELSIE LEVELLE
Mrs. Elsie E. Levelle, 75, a resident of Marin since 1952, died last night at a San Rafael hospital after a long illness followed by a heart attack.
Mrs. Levelle was a retired Glendale city librarian. Born in England she spent her girlhood in Devonshire before coming to the United States at the age of 18.
Her husband, A. Douglas Levelle, also British born, died in 1922.
Prior to entering the hospital a month ago, Mrs. Levelle resided at 1220 Irwin Street, San Rafael. She was a member of St. Ann’s Guild of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
She was the mother of Mrs. Orville F. Grimes of San Rafael. She also leaves a sister, Kethleen (sic) Gorman of Glendale; three brothers, Stanley C. Gorman of Temple City, Los Angeles County; Harry Gorman of San Clemente, Orange County, and Sidney R. Gorman of Aptos, Santa Cruz County, and four grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in San Rafael, directed by Keaton’s Mortuary. The body will be sent to Glendale for burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery at 2 p.m. Friday.
The family prefers that tributes be donations to St. Paul’s Memorial Church Fund.
