MARIE D. PACHECO
Mass of the Christian Burial was offered Saturday at Mission San Rafael for Marie Drechsler Pacheco who died Wednesday at her home at the age of 84.
She was the widow of Thomas T. Pacheco, grandson of Ygnacio Pacheco, founder of the town of Ignacio. She made her home at 5495 Redwood Highway, Ignacio.
A native of San Francisco, she worked as a governess before her marriage. At one time she and her husband operated a restaurant in Boyes Hot Springs in Sonoma County, which catered to members of two baseball teams, the Oakland Oaks and the San Francisco Seals.
The couple moved to Ignacio during World War II when Mr. Pacheco went to work as a mechanic at Hamilton Air Force Base.
Mrs. Pacheco was an avid rose gardener and a student of Pacheco family history.
She is survived by a nephew, John Drechsler, of San Francisco.
Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery under the auspices of Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.
