ARVID BENSON
A private family service will be held for Arvid Benson of Corte Madera.
Benson died Monday in a local hospital following a short illness. He was 78.
A native of Sweden, Benson lived in San Francisco for 40 years before moving to Marin in 1969. He was an employee of the Pacific Telephone Co.
His many affiliations included the Elta-Ho Shrine Club of Crystal Bay, Nev., Park/Crockett Lodge No. 139 Free and Accepted Masons, King Solomon’s Chapter No. 25 of Royal Arch Masons, California Council No. 2, Royal and Select Masons and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Benson is survived by his wife, Hildur, and a son, Roy A. Benson of Greenbrae.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco.
