HERBERT JACK
Private family services for Herbert Jack, 89, of Greenbrae, originator of gift shows in theaters, were held today at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael.
Jack, a retired sales representative for Kroehler Co., theatrical suppliers in 11 western states, died Friday at a local hospital after an unexpected illness.
Jack was the creator of Capt. Jack’s Treasure Chest, appearing at theaters throughout the Bay Area. During World War II, he became a sales representative for the theatrical supply firm.
He was born in California, raised in Seattle. Later he returned to California. He had lived in Greenbrae for about six years. He was a member of Tent 32, Variety Club, in San Francisco.
Surviving are a son, Herbert W. Jack, and three grandchildren.
Inurnment was private. The family prefers that memorial gifts be made to Variety Club Blind Babies Foundation, 988 Market St., San Francisco, or to a favorite charity.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the husband of the late Rose A. Jack, and father of the late Lucille Delma. He was the grandfather of Jay and Gerald Jack and Candice Garetson.
