PEARL T. NEWELL
Funeral and burial will be held Friday in Clarinda, Iowa for Pearl T. Newell, former Novato resident and mother of former Independent Journal reporter Theron Newell, of Novato.
Mrs. Newell died yesterday in Paradise, Butte County, at the age of 92.
A native of Huron, South Dakota, she grew up in Clarinda and lived in Kansas and Iowa before moving to California seven years ago. She lived in Novato for three years until she moved to Paradise six months ago.
Besides her son, she is survived by two daughters, Ruth N. Elliott, of Portland, Oregon and Barbara Sturgeon of Paradise; eight grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
