THELMA A. ALLEN
A private service has been held in Sutter, Sutter County, for Thelma A. Allen, a former San Anselmo resident who died March 1 after an illness. She was 77.
She was born in Vancouver, Wash., and lived in San Anselmo for 30 years. Mrs. Allen moved to Auburn shortly after the death of her husband, former San Anselmo City Councilman Cecil Allen.
The Allens were owners of the San Rafael Bus Co. which provided service to San Quentin and Richmond. The couple also operated a coffee shop, Allen’s Alley, in San Anselmo for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia James of Live Oak, Sutter County; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two half-sisters in Washington.
