FRED NELSON

Fred P. Nelson, 39, of 12 Sylvan Way, Woodacre, died at a local hospital last night after a short illness.

A native of Bemidji, Minn., he came to Woodacre five years ago. He was a roofer, belonging to Marin County Local 121, Roofers Union.

Nelson was in the Navy from 1941 to 1945, serving aboard a destroyer in the South Pacific.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Constance A. Nelson of Woodacre; his mother, Mrs. Velma Nelson of Minneapolis; a son, Bruce Nelson of Woodacre; and seven sisters, Gladys Nelson, Mrs. Reva Ruh and Mrs. Janice Sauder, all of Minneapolis; Mrs. Jennie Ihde and Mrs. Lydia Loosing, both of Rock Island, Ill.; Mrs. Florence Hayes of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Grace Hensley of Bemidji.

Funeral will be at 12:45 p.m. Monday at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael. Burial will be at 2:15 p.m. in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
