VICTOR J. ROSALES

Mass of the Christian Burial was offered Monday at St. Peter and Paul’s Church in San Francisco for Victor J. Rosales who died Thursday at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City following a short illness. He was 55.

A native of San Francisco, he grew up in Colorado and served with the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was given several citations, including two Bronze Stars for scout and reconnaissance work in the Philippines.

He moved to Marin County 24 years ago and was employed as a mechanic at J and B Ford in Corte Madera. Rosales lived in Mill Valley and Corte Madera before moving to Novato about four years ago. He made his home at 11 Doris Avenue.

He was a member of the Novato Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 540 in Novato and Legion Post 284 in Mill Valley. He was also a 30-year member of the auto mechanics union in San Rafael and a member of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.

Surviving are a daughter, Victoria Correia-Lima of San Francisco; a son, Marty Rosales, of Fairfax; two sisters, Margaret Sanchez of Pittsburg, and Ramona Rosales of Medford, Oregon; and a brother, Raymond Rosales of Medford.

Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma under the auspices of the Green Street Mortuary in San Francisco.
