JAMES McNAB

James McNab, a self-employed investment counselor and former Ross Town Council member, died Tuesday at a San Francisco hospital after an illness.

He was 65.

McNab had served on the Town Council from 1955 to 1960 and on the State Republican Central Committee.

He was born in San Francisco and graduated from Stanford University in 1936 with a degree in geology. He was a geologist from 1937 to 1940.

McNab served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945 in South American, India and China. He earned the rank of major and received the Air Medal in India in 1944.

He entered the investment business in 1946 and 10 years later set up his own firm.

McNab had been a resident of Ross since 1949.

Surviving are his wife, Mary McNab of Ross, and three sons, James III, Alexander and Stewart McNab.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ross. The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to Dr. Vincent Richards endowed chair of surgical research and education, Children’s Hospital, San Francisco 94118.
