JAMES MARTINONI
A Mass of Christian Burial for James Martinoni, 75, of Tiburon, will be said at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Hilary’s Catholic Church in Tiburon.
He died at home Tuesday after a long illness.
A native of Italy, Martinoni moved to Sausalito in 1913 as a young boy. He lived thee until moving to Tiburon in 1971.
Martinoni was the maintenance supervisor for the Sausalito School District for 20 years before retiring in 1970.
In his earlier years, he had traveled to the Far East and South Pacific as a machinist in the Merchant Marine. He also worked for several years as an engineer on the Southern Pacific Ferry Lines on San Francisco Bay. He was part of the last crew of the ferryboat Eureka, now docked in San Francisco.
He also worked as a machinist in the Vallejo and Marin shipyards during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Martinoni of Tiburon; a son, James Martinoni of Tiburon; a daughter, Carol Martinoni of San Francisco; and two sisters, Mary Mainini and Rose Bedecarrax, both of Mill Valley.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Martinoni. Arrangements were by Russell & Gooch in Mill Valley; interment was in Italian Cemetery in Colma.
