CLAUDE UNDERWOOD
Claude Underwood, 78, of San Anselmo, a retired hodcarrier, died Friday in an Anselmo in a traffic accident.
Underwood was a member of Hodcarriers Union Local 291 and the Mill Valley Post 284 of the American Legion.
He was a native of Exeter, Neb., who had been a resident of Marin since 1935. Surviving are three sisters, Irma B. Wendell of San Anselmo, Mary Kittinger of Nebraska and Sister Helen Edward of Missouri.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anselm’s Church, San Anselmo. Entombment will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
