CLIFFORD LONGFELLOW

A Catholic blessing service for Clifford James Longfellow, a former Larkspur resident, will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Eggen and Lance Mortuary, Santa Rosa.

Longfellow, 65, died Monday at a San Francisco hospital after a lengthy illness.

Longfellow had served more than 27 years in the Navy before his retirement as a gunner’s mate in 1961. He had served in both World War II and Korea.

After his retirement, Longfellow remained active in the Fleet Reserve Association and had served as president of both the San Rafael and Santa Rosa branches. He moved to Santa Rosa from Larkspur eight years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce D. Longfellow of Santa Rosa; two stepsons, Rick Guetter of Woodacre and Fred McCullough of Redding; a stepdaughter, Pamela Longfellow of England; and four grandchildren.

Private burial will be in the veterans’ lawn section of Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
