Death Claims ‘Bill’ Schneider Monday After Long Illness

The funeral of William B. “Bill” Schneider, for many years cigar store proprietor and of a pioneer San Rafael family, was held Wednesday morning from the mortuary of Keaton and Dusel. A requiem mass was held at St. Raphael’s Church. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Walter Castro, Arthur Coutts, James T. Redmond, Francis Rodgers, Clarence Johansen and Walter Vanning.

A heart ailment of two year’s duration brought Schneider’s life to an end Monday morning suddenly. For many months he had not been active in his business due to illness.

Schneider was a San Rafael native son and was 64 years of age. He was the son of the late John Schneider who conducted the cigar store before him, and Mrs. Schneider. He was the brother of Daniel Schneider, former San Rafael Fire Department chief for many years.

Also surviving the late well known figure are John T. Schneider, another brother, a sister, Miss May M. Schneider, a niece, Miss Marie Caesar, and two nephews, Nullet F. and Jack Schneider.
