MRS. TJENSVOLD

A memorial service for Ellen B. Tjensvold, mother of the late Arnt H. Tjensvold of Tiburon, will be held at noon Thursday in the Norwegian Seamen’s Church, San Francisco.

Mrs. Tjensvold died Saturday in a Marin convalescent hospital after a brief illness. She was 73.

She had lived in Marin County only since Christmas.

Her husband died early last month, and her son, an attorney who lived at 4800 Paradise Drive, Tiburon, was killed in a fiery, three-car crash on Doyle Drive just south of the Golden Gate Bridge on Jan. 24.

Mrs. Tjensvold is survived by one grandson and her daughter-in-law.

A native of Norway, she moved to San Francisco in 1925. She was a member of Herik Ibsen Lodge, Sons and Daughters of Norway, and of the women’s auxiliary of the Norwegian Seamen’s Church.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Daphne’s Funeral Chapel, 1 Church Street, San Francisco. The family prefers either flowers or donations to the Norwegian Seamen’s Church.
