LAYNE M. WARD
A private family funeral will be held for Layne Michael Ward on Friday at the Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato.
Ward, a resident of Novato, died Tuesday night in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101. He was 21.
A native of Greenbrae, he was raised in Novato until he was 6 and then moved to Alamo in the East Bay. He graduated from San Ramon High School in Danville in 1977.
He worked two years in construction in Maui, Hawaii, and then moved back to Danville for a short time before moving to Novato six months ago.
Ward was employed as a carpet installer for Carpeteria in San Rafael.
Survivors include his parents, Lon S. Ward of San Leandro and Barbara Lockett of Alamo; two brothers, Lon S. Ward and Danny Ward, both of San Leandro; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Stoner, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ward, all of Novato.
He will be buried in Bahia Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Novato.
