MARY C. O’CONNOR

A memorial service for Mary C. O’Connor of Corte Madera, a Marin resident for more than 20 years, will be held at 1:30 p.m. April 25 in the San Rafael Improvement Club, Fifth and H streets.

Mrs. O’Connor died Friday at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 51.

Mrs. O’Connor was born and raised in San Francisco. She attended schools there.

She was married in 1951 to John O’Connor. The couple moved to Marin about 1957.

Mrs. O’Connor was a homemaker and was active in many civic organizations. She was the former president of the Marin Motion Picture Society and also was active in the Parent-Teachers Association and other groups.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Larkspur.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, John O’Connor Jr. of Corte Madera; two daughters, Mary O’Connor of Novato and Joanne Tanverakul of San Francisco; three sisters, Pat Boan of Napa, Dolore Briare of Terra Linda and a third sister who lives in Napa; two brothers, George Wehner of San Francisco and Jim Wehner of Woodland; and one grandchild.

A private family funeral was held Saturday. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael.

The family prefers memorial donations to Hospice of Marin.
