CARL L. ADLER
Private funeral services will be held for Carl L. Adler, 68, a longtime resident of Forest Knolls.
He died on Saturday at a local hospital after a sudden illness.
A native of San Francisco he was a retired supervisor with the U. S. Postal Service in San Francisco, where he worked for about 30 years.
He was raised in San Francisco, but spent summers with his family in Forest Knolls. After high school, he joined the Navy. He later began working for the Postal Service. He entered the military again during World War II and settled in Forest Knolls after the war.
He was a member of the Marin Shriners Club.
Adler is survived by his wife, Mildred A. Adler of Forest Knolls; a daughter, Ruth Van Winkle of Pacifica; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are being handled by Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. The family prefers memorial gifts to the Marin County Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the brother-in-law of Mrs. Harry Larson of Oroville.
