CECELIA M. MOBLEY
A Mass of Christian Burial for Cecelia M. Mobley, an 88-year resident of San Rafael, will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Mission San Rafael Arcangel.
Mrs. Mobley died Monday in a local hospital. She was 89.
She was born in New York but came to San Rafael with her family as an infant.
She became a court stenographer in the old Marin County Courthouse in San Rafael for two decades. But in 1934, her friends recalled, she gave up the job so a single woman could find employment during the Depression.
Mrs. Mobley was married to Harry S. Mobley, longtime athletic coach at the San Rafael Academy. He died in 1965.
She was a member of St. Raphael’s Church of San Rafael.
She is survived by a sister, Louise A. Mulcahy, who now lives in Novato.
A rosary will be recited at 8 tonight at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael. Burial will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
