DARYL A. HOPKINS
A Requiem Mass for Daryl A. Hopkins, a retired Marin County Schools Office employee from Larkspur, will be said at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Saint Raphael’s Church in San Rafael.
He died in an auto accident in San Francisco on Saturday.
A native of California, he was a veteran of World War II.
He retired in 1973 as head of the county schools office’s Bayview School at San Quentin, a job he first took in 1966. Before that, he had been the director of special education and a special consultant and health coordinator for the county.
He had been a teacher and principal with the Mill Valley School District for 12 years before joining the county.
He is survived by a brother, James Hopkins of Saint Helena.
The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the church. Visitation will be held today from 3 to 5 p.m. at Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. Burial will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the son of the late Edwin and Gertrude Hopkins, and uncle of James K. Hopkins of Petaluma and Lynda Stall of La Habra.
