JAMES D. LYNCH

James D. Lynch of San Rafael, a Marin resident for more than 50 years, died Tuesday at a local hospital after a long illness. He was 76.

Lynch was a native of New Jersey and moved to California as a young man. He served in the Army following World War I and was stationed in Hawaii.

Lunch worked as a mailman for several years and for 30 years was a truck driver for the now defunct Regal Pale Brewing Co. of San Francisco. He retired several years ago.

He was a member of St. Anselm’s Church in San Anselmo for many years.

He and his wife, Antoinette, lived in San Anselmo for many years. She died in 1952. Lynch moved to San Rafael three years ago and worked as the manager of his apartment building.

He is survived by a son, James D. Lynch Jr. of San Rafael; a brother, Sam Lynch of New Jersey; a sister, Estelle Ryan of New Jersey; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anselm’s Church in San Anselmo. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.

The rosary will be recited Thursday at 8 p.m. at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. The family prefers memorial donations to the American Heart Association or St. Anselm’s Church.
