DIANE PARTON
A funeral service for Diane King Parton of San Rafael will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Unitarian Church of San Francisco.
Mrs. Parton, 35, died Friday in her home following a brief illness.
A longtime resident of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Parton moved to Sausalito in 1974. She had been active in numerous civic and community groups, including the North Bay School Advisory Board. She was a recipient of the Citizenship Award from the Sausalito School District for her volunteer service.
She and her family moved to San Rafael last year.
Mrs. Parton was an executive with the J. Magnin Co. Inc. in San Francisco.
She is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Phillip and Christopher; her mother, Anne Mills King of Washington; her father, Donald King of Eugene, Ore.; and a brother, Stewart King, also of Eugene.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the Zen Center of San Francisco for the benefit of the Tassajara Hot Springs.
