WILLIAM F. MORIARTY

William F. Moriarty, a former advertising manager of Fortune magazine and an active member of the Marin Golf and Country Club, died Wednesday.

A native of Chicago, Moriarty, 62, moved to California in 1969. He lived in San Francisco until his retirement two years ago, when he moved to Napa.

He died in his Napa home following a long illness.

Moriarty is survived by his wife, Marcie; three daughters, Patricia and Charlotte, both of Napa, and Margaret Perkins of Houston; one son, William F. Moriarty II of Tempe, Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Flannery and Catherine O’Leary, both of the Channel Islands off Santa Barbara; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday at the Carmelite Monastery, Oakville Grade, Oakville.

The family prefers contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
