CARMEN S. BARNES

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carmen Schuster Barnes of Tiburon will be said at 7 tonight at the Presentation Sisters Mother House, 2340 Turk St., San Francisco.

Mrs. Barnes, 55, died Monday in a local hospital after a long illness.

She had been a member of the Presentation Sisters Order for a number of years. She left the order about 10 years ago and since had worked in Santa Clara County as an interviewer for the state Department of Employment.

She had lived in Tiburon for about two and a half years.

She was born and raised in San Francisco, attending Presentation High School. She also studied later in Europe and held a doctorate in music.

Mrs. Barnes was a member of the San Francisco Yacht Club in Belvedere.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil Barnes of Tiburon, and two sisters, Lynn Hartzell of Thousand Oaks and Sister Mary Peter Claver of San Francisco.

The family prefers memorial contributions to Hospice of Marin.
