HORTENSE JONES
Mill Valley – Private memorial services will be held for Hortense Jones, 99, of Mill Valley, who died Sunday morning at her home. A native of New York City, she had lived in Mill Valley for about 10 years.
She had moved from New York to Oakland many years ago, later settling in Mill Valley. She was a homemaker.
Her late husband, Archibald Jones, had been an attorney with the Southern Pacific Railroad. He died about 36 years ago.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Hortense Cannon Tiburon; a sister, Claire Alkalay of Greenbrae; and a granddaughter.
Arrangements are being handled by the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland.
