FRANCES C. BROWN
A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances C. Brown, a Mill Valley resident and lifelong resident of Marin, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mill Valley.
Mrs. Brown, 92, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
She was born in Sausalito and moved later to Mill Valley. She was a housewife. She was a member of S.P.R.S.I. No. 94, a Portuguese lodge in Novato. Her husband, David, was a carpenter for the American Distillery in Sausalito. He died in 1970.
She is survived by three daughters, Hilda Surles of Mill Valley, Thelma Samuelson of Sebastopol and Alma Bettencourt of Petaluma; and 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Sunday at Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel, Mill Valley. Visitation will be held after 9 a.m. Sunday at the chapel. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was also the mother of the late Geraldine Bettencourt and Agnes Ferrera.
