EMILIA R. DE BENEDETTI
Emilia Rose De Benedetti of San Anselmo, a Marin resident for more than 60 years, died Sunday at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 92.
Mrs. De Benedetti was born in Italy and lived there until she was about 25. In about 1913 she moved to t his country and settled in San Anselmo. She lived on a ranch where Sir Francis Drake High School now stands before moving to another home in San Anselmo.
She devoted most of her time to her family and to church activities. She was a member of St. Anselm’s Church in San Anselmo. She also contributed to many Italian charities.
Mrs. De Benedetti was a member of the Catholic Federation.
She is survived by three daughters, Edna Croce of Fairfax, Enez Pontasuglio of Millbrae and Florence Orlando of San Anselmo; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anselm’s Church in San Anselmo. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.
The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anselm’s Church. Visitation is Tuesday until 5 p.m. at the mortuary.
The family prefers memorial donations to a favorite charity.
