CHARLES BARNEY
One of the first business men in Mill Valley, Charles Barney, of 160 Miller avenue, died at his home yesterday after a lengthy illness. He had been a resident of Marin county for 48 years, coming to America from his native Venice, Italy.
Husband of the late Theresa Barney, the deceased is survived by two sons, Anthony and John Barney of Mill Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Richardson and Mrs. Lucy Ridgaway (sic), of San Francisco; and Mrs. Laura Tarassi, of Johannesburg, South Africa; and seven grandchildren, Charles, George, Valerie, Antonetti, John J., Richard and Ronald Barney.
Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Monday at the Robert F. Russell Co. chapel, Mill Valley, thence to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, where a requiem high mass will be said for the repose of his soul at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Fernwood cemetery.
