Untimely Death of Novato Youth

Death came for Wilfred Edsberg last Thursday and ended a young life that was filled with promise of a bright future.

He was 15 years of age, but in that short span he had made countless friends whose lives have been saddened by the untimely passing of the boy. Wilfred was born in San Rafael, but he had lived most of his life with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Edsberg, in Novato, where he was best known. For the past year or so he had resided with his mother in San Francisco, his father having passed away many years ago. Because he had made his home with his grandparents, he was know by their sir name (sic), rather than by the sir name of his father, Mather.

Recently he had developed a marked talent for drawing, and it was the intention of his grandfather to encourage by every means the development of this penchant, but for the intervention of tragedy. Death followed an operation performed in San Francisco to stay an attack of blood poisoning.

Wilfred was a member of the Young Men’s Christian Association and the Boy Scouts of American. The funeral was held Saturday, with cremation services at Cypress Lawn.
