LILA GIAMBRA
Former Marin resident
Lila J. Giambra died at a San Francisco hospital on April 27 after 15 months of illness. She was 64.
A native of El Centro, Mrs. Giambra was reared and educated in San Anselmo. She was a resident of Marin County for 29 years, and raised her family at the L. P. McNear Brick Yard in San Rafael. At one time, she worked as a quality controller for a graphics company in Marin and was very active in the Women of the Moose Chapter 574 of Petaluma. She had been a resident of Petaluma for 17 years.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Giambra of Petaluma; a son, Rick Giambra of San Rafael; two daughters, Penny Giambra of Novato and Vickie La Vassaur of Klamath Falls, Ore.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral liturgy will be at 10 a.m. on May 2 at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary, Magnolia Avenue and Keokuk Street in Petaluma. A vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the mother-in-law of John La Vassaur and Connie Giambra; grandmother of Nicole and John La Vassaur, and Lila Giambra; great-grandmother of Andrew La Vassaur. She was the daughter of Jessie I. Slocum of Grants Pass, Ore., and sister of Muriel Daugherty, also of Grants Pass.
