Melvin Staples Passes Away
Captain Melvin Staples, for many years one of Mill Valley’s prominent citizens, was carried to his last earthly rest last Sunday following the funeral services held by the Mill Valley lodge of Masons, of which he was a member.
The lodge brothers arranged a special program of singing for the obsequies, which were attended by a large number of the numerous friends of the deceased. Mrs. Staples preceded her husband by about a year (sic).
The services and interment, which took place in San Mateo, were under the direction of Stephen Eden.
