ONA F. WORDEN
Ona “Florine” Worden, a longtime Novato resident, died Friday in a local hospital after a long illness. She was 80.
A native of Missouri, she came to California in 1953 when her husband George D. Worden, who is a retired U.S. Air Force officer, was transferred to Hamilton Air Force Base.
Before marrying, Mrs. Worden was a teacher in Kansas where she graduated from Pittsburg Teaching College.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Novato, a past member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association in Kansas County, and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Kansas.
Other survivors include two daughters, Georgie Reardon of Ohio and Virginia Fraser of Novato; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church of Novato. She will be buried at Bahia Valley Memorial Park.
Friends may visit the Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato until 9 p.m. today.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church.
